I began working with children with special needs when I was 13 years old, at United Cerebral Palsy, every summer until I graduated from college. I grew up on Long Island, NY, graduated from Mansfield University in PA where I earned my Bachelor in Music, Specializing in Music Therapy, and completed my internship at the University of Georgia- where I worked with children who had severe and profound special needs.
From there, I worked at Georgia Regional Hospital in Savannah, with psychiatric patients of all ages. I then moved to FL. and worked in a Nursing Facility as a Therapeutic Recreation Director, specializing in Dementia and Alzheimer's. In 1997, my family and I moved to Colorado, where I worked as a Dementia Specialist before going back to work in the school system. After a few years, I began my private practice, working with Early Intervention, children and adults with special needs (including: Down Syndrome, Autism, Sensory Processing, Cerebral Palsy, general/global delays including cognitive delays, Traumatic Brain Injury, and a variety of medically fragile, and/or other disabilities). I continue with my private practice today. I am currently working with Early Intervention, school-aged children and adults with disabilities, and have enjoyed working in serveral Nursing Facilities around Colorado Springs. I am also involved with local Down Syndrome (Buddy Walk), Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and many more.
Overall, I have over 12 years experience with Early Intervention, and a total of about 27 years of experience with a wide range of disabilities and age ranges.
I continue to accept clients in El Paso Co. (Colorado Springs- areas of district 38, 20, 49, and 11), and southern Douglas Co. (Larkspur, Castle Rock).
If you are interested in an assessment, consultation, etc., please feel free to contact me.
